Fiber-reinforced plastic profiles in economical large and small series

Fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) is a material that acts as a reinforcement. With “GVK”, several elements are combined in such a way that the desired properties are achieved. Fiber-reinforced plastics are highly resilient lightweight construction materials that play a key role in a wide range of industrial applications. The use of these plastics, and therefore also the production of fiber-reinforced plastic profiles, is no longer limited to small series or individual items with many variants. Plastic profiles in mechanical engineering, window and vehicle construction or high-quality protectors and wind turbine rotor blades are made from fiber-reinforced plastic. Fiber-reinforced plastic profiles from our production are also used for applications in aircraft construction and a variety of industrial applications for everyday and unusual products or buildings.

Buy high-quality fiber-reinforced plastic profiles

Our specialization in special plastics enables us to offer a wide range of different and particularly high-quality “GVK” products. We manufacture the fiber-reinforced plastic and the “GVK” plastic profiles individually in small and large series. Our “GVK” profiles are used in a wide variety of companies and industries. We work with customer-specific product requirements for the production of our plastic profiles. We only use modern production processes with prompt delivery and competitive prices. If you have any questions or special designs for fiber-reinforced plastic profiles, please contact us at any time and we will advise you with our expertise and experience. Our “GVK” profiles meet the highest quality requirements and are suitable for almost all products and construction projects.

Fiber-reinforced plastic – interesting facts about the material

The interaction of matrix material and fiber material creates a new material – the fiber-reinforced plastic. Its fibers are bonded to a matrix by cohesive and adhesive forces. The elasticity behavior of the plastic is direction-dependent. Without the matrix material, neither the stiffness nor the strength of the fiber can be used. The new material is only created through the combination of matrix and fiber. This – as a “GVK” – has special properties that are used in lightweight construction applications, for example. It is possible to parameterize the thermal and mechanical properties in a targeted manner. The fiber angle, the layer sequence and the fiber volume fraction can also be varied. The matrix material is thermoplastic.

Lightweight material with reinforced fibers

Fiber-reinforced plastics (FRP) are highly resilient lightweight construction materials. They play a key role in a wide range of applications and industries. We produce fiber-reinforced plastic profiles economically in large and small series. In particular, we process fiber-reinforced thermoplastics. This extremely heterogeneous group of materials is characterized by the type of fibre reinforcement, the fibre volume fraction, the various manufacturing processes, the possible matrix materials and the generated or adjusted fibre orientation. Fiber-reinforced plastics belong to the group of materials known as fiber composites.

Possible applications for fiber-reinforced plastic

As a material, our fiber-reinforced profiles and fiber-reinforced plastic are indispensable in many areas. Fiber-reinforced plastic profiles are used in aircraft construction, for example. Fiber-reinforced plastic is also used in the blades of wind turbines, as brake discs for high-performance applications and in mechanical engineering, window and vehicle construction.

Thermoplastics – Plastics for fiber-reinforced profiles

Thermoset and thermoplastic are usually used for fiber-reinforced plastic profiles. Thermoset has very low elongation at break and is known for its brittle fracture behavior. It is less suitable for structural applications. Thermoplastics, with their viscoelastic properties, are also barely adequate for stable or load-bearing applications. However, if the fibers are processed with matrix materials to form fiber-reinforced plastic, applications in the lightweight construction sector as well as for the aircraft and automotive industries are possible. Regardless of the type of reinforcement and the selected matrix, fiber-reinforced plastic always has high specific strengths and moduli of elasticity (a characteristic value related to elasticity).
However, plastics usually also exhibit a high degree of anisotropy (directional dependence) in their thermal and mechanical properties!
